Final Project - Surveying the School
In this final project we are going to put all the skills we learned throughout the course into one final activity that is using Forms, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and our websites. You will be creating a survey that we will send out to the school and make posters to put around the school to get students to respond.
Instructions for Part 1 - Creating the Survey
Creating the Form
The primary purpose of this assignment is to discover a social trends within our school population and to use this information to:
- Better communicate existing social assistance prgrams
- Develop and/or contribute to existing school-based and/or community social assistance programs
To be successful I need to:
- Design a survey with a minimum 10 questions. Be sure to follow guidelines to good survey questions. One questions should be what grade the students are in.
- Submit the survey to your teacher and class to evaluate it.
- You will survey the entire school population once it is given the Ok from teacher.
- Ensure you have de-selected collection of names. This allows participants to be more honest in your survey.
- Set an end date to your survey
Instructions for Part 2 - Creating the Poster
Once your survey has been vetted by your classmates you will be creating a poster to be placed around the school so people who do not open there emails can still participate. When you go into forms you can download a QR code that can be put on your poster for people to scan as they pass by.
Your poster should be;

Once you have your poster created, print it out and see how it looks! If you are satisfied give it to the teacher and we will get copies made and you will have to put them up around the school.
And then we wait...
And then we wait...
Instructions for Part 3 - Sending the Email
We are now going to email our survey out to the school community! This is attached to your name so we need to consider what we are sending and who we are sending it to.
You want to ensure you are using proper Email Etiquette;

Instructions for Part 4 - Collecting the Data & Analysing the Data
Once our surveys have been sent out to the wild we will start to see responses coming in. It is a good idea to check the data that is being collected and seeing if it is what we want. One week after we have made our survey public we need to go out and collect the posters that we have posted around the school. It is important that we retrieve any papers that we put out so when our survey closes people will not become frustrated when it can no longer be accessed.
We will now start looking at our data that has been collected and create a variety of graphs that represent the information we have collected. Using the functions of excel you will create 10 graphs comparing the answers that we received and representing it in a visual representation. |
Instructions for Part 5 - Presenting the Data
It is now time to present our data we have collected! Using our graphs and some additional research you will be creating a PowerPoint presentation to show your findings to the class. Your PowerPoint should include; Your poster that you distributed, your graphics that you have created using Excel, and an overview of your sample size (Number of students per grade, demographics, etc)
Your PowerPoint should be visually appealing, informative and representative of the school population. |
Instructions for Part 6 - Uploading to the Website
The final part to the puzzle is to create a subpage on your website that displays all the information that you collected. Here is a list of items that should be present on your webpage;
