Digitalizing Our Animations
Now that we are able to get our character walking across the screen we can try getting our own flip books animated. Try it out with your own flip books!
Using one of the methods above (flash or Movie Maker) we are going to animate our flip books!

Creating a Flip Book
Using the story board you just created you will be creating a flip book. A flip book is a series of images that are drawn on paper. The paper is attached together with a clip and by flipping the pages either back to front or front to back creates a short moving story. Look at some examples by selecting the black button to the right ( --> ). Watch the videos below to learn some simple steps in creating your own flip book.
**Remember you already did the planning for your flip book when you created the storyboard. |

Yeah! We just created our first animation!
Story Boards
Story boards are how we start... Everything starts with a story board, so that is how we are going to start over, with a story board.
This assignment will be a 3 part assignment. So to begin we are creating a story board of anyting we can think of, use something that interests you, something that tells a story (story about you in the real world, or a fantasy alternate universe). Task 1: Choose a topic. Task 2: Choose a story. Task 3: Figure out the end. Task 4: Make it happen! |

Making Donald Duck Move
We can get our characters moving many different ways...
Using Photo Shop and Movie Maker |
Using Photoshop and Adobe Flash |
To create a digital animation we need to get our images onto a computer. To do this we have two options;
Option 1: Scan/Digitalize our hand drawn images into the computer. Option 2: Draw them using photoshop or other digital software. Once we have our images on the computer we can sharpen them up, add colour, etc. We need to save each image as a Jpeg so we can use them. |

Practice
For our practice digital animation we are going to start by getting a character to walk across a background. Import one of the two pre-created walk cycles into Photoshop, you will then import the Background File.
We are now ready to make a walking animation. |
