Terminology
Business Travel - You won’t have a choice of where you go and you will be spending a lot of your time working.
Camper/RV Trip - When you own a caravan/RV and travel in it and it is used as your accommodation
Communicating - Expresses ideas
Conserving - Protects resources. Think sustainability and stewardship
Continents - Any of the world's main continuous expanses of land
Country - A country is a distinct territorial body or political entity.
Destination Approach - Focuses on where people are travelling and facilities provided
Economic Approach - Focuses on economic factors of tourism industry
Education - Teaches others
Entertaining - is human enjoyment and amusement
Event Travel - This is when you travel to a destination specifically to attend an event
Family Trip - when you go to visit friends and family who live abroad
Gap Year - A Gap Year is when you take a year off usually to work, volunteer or study in another country.
Governing - Organizes people and the landscape
Group Holiday - Group tours can describe busloads of 20-year-olds who want to drink and party to groups of 80 year olds who want to visit historical monuments and everything in between.
Interaction - deals with How? (e.g. How is a landscape shaped by physical and human Systems?).
Long Term Traveler - Long term slow travel is when you take several months or years to make your way around the world
Manufacturing - involves the procurement of goods and ideas through primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary industries
Moralizing - develops social behaviours through religion or ethics
Movement - impacts on people, things and ideas.
Packaged Holiday - package holiday is that all the work is done for you.
Place - answers the question What? Specifically, what is a location like? Region
Product Approach - Focuses on tourism as a packaged or sold as a complete product
Protecting - Involves human defence
Providing Aesthetics - Uses art, literature, etc.. to enhance human life.
Province/Territory/States - A province is almost always an administrative division within a country or state.
Region - investigates the geographic features that unify a place.
Rural - in, relating to, or characteristic of the countryside rather than the town.
Service Approach - Focuses on Agencies that deliver services
Transportation - Describes the movement of manufactured goods
Travel Influencer - Someone or thing that influences a travel destination
Travel Motivation - Internal reason to go to a location
Urban - An urban area, or built-up area, is a human settlement with a high population density and infrastructure of built environment.
Voluntourism - volunteering around the world is another one of the popular types of travel
Weekend Traveler - A traveler that flys out or leaves on Friday evening and return on Sunday
